Is your organization ready for IAM?

Each organization has different goals and different aspirations. Just as importantly - each organization has a different starting point.

By understanding a customer's Identity and Access Management aspirations and specific reasons behind them - then baselining where they are today with regards to key components; we are then able to provide specific advice and direction as opposed to standard generalizations out of a textbook.

Without going into "analysis paralysis", the Universal Defence IAM Readiness Assessment is a specifically focused phase to gauge customer organization's level of IAM Maturity.

Identity and Access Management involves three key areas which must all be individually dealt with, both in isolation and inclusively:

  • People
    • Before even looking at the technology side of an IAM project - it must be realized that the People either make or break the outcome. Does the project have Executive support? Are the right Change Agents engaged?
    • We evaluate the environment thoroughly before charging full steam ahead and recommending that we can "boil the ocean" with the right Technology.
  • Processes
    • Garbage-In, Garbage-Out. Business Processes play a key role in IAM. Apart from understanding whether the chosen solution path will even meet the organization's requirements or not - there are many other components to consider. What is the level of understanding of current processes? What are the formalized user registration procedures? How "clean" is the organization's payroll/HR data?
    • By understanding the Business Processes of the environment - together we can plan the most appropriate course of action and use the most appropriate methods.
  • Technology
    • Upon evaluating the People and Processes of the organization - we must now jointly look at the Technology aspects. Future Strategy, Current Technology, Strengths, Weaknesses and other key areas which provide the necessary input to making sound decisions on proceeding.

By completing an IAM Readiness Assessment phase - we are able to objectively evaluate the customer organization's level of IAM Maturity and help make the right decisions for how to achieve most value from an IAM initiave.
